Services Medical Screening Epigenetic Age Clock & Telomere Length Test
Epigenetic Age Clock
& Telomere
Length Test
Measures your biological age from your DNA, and the length of your telomeres, the protective ends of your chromosomes.
What it is
Laboratory Tests That Estimate
Your Biological Age
These tests look at measurable changes linked to how your body is aging, which can differ from your age in years. They use two measures: DNA methylation patterns and telomere length.
-
DNA Methylation & Telomere Length
Epigenetic age comes from DNA methylation. Telomere length measures the ends of your chromosomes.
-
Biological Age & How Fast You Age
The report can show an estimated biological age and how fast aging-related changes are happening.
-
A Starting Point for Future Tests
Your first result becomes a reference point to compare with future testing.
Overview
What the Tests Measure
Each test looks at a different part of biological aging, so together they give a fuller picture than a single number.
-
Epigenetic Age
Estimates biological age from the patterns of DNA methylation in your cells.
-
Telomere Length
Measures the protective ends of your chromosomes and compares them with reference data.
-
Pace of Aging
DunedinPACE estimates your current rate of aging from DNA methylation patterns.
-
Repeat Testing
Later results are compared with your first one to show how your measurements change.

Frequently Asked
Common Questions About Biological Age Testing
Can’t find your question here? Send it to us and we will reply before you book.
Ask your questionHow accurate is a biological age result?
Epigenetic clocks and telomere measures are well established in research and improving steadily, but they carry real measurement variation, and different algorithms can give different answers from the same sample. That is why we treat a single reading as a starting point and put the weight on the change between two.
Can I actually change the result?
The evidence that pace-of-aging measures respond to sleep, activity, body composition, metabolic health and smoking is encouraging, and that is the basis on which we use them. No one can promise a specific number of years off a result, and we will not put it that way.
How often should it be repeated?
Usually no sooner than twelve months, and often longer. These measures move slowly, and repeating them too soon will not show a real change. The consultation sets an interval that makes the comparison worth having.
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. A doctor orders the test after a consultation, so it is chosen for your history and symptoms, not picked from a list. The same doctor then explains your results.
Where are the samples analyzed?
Samples are processed by accredited local and international laboratories, including partners in Australia, Germany and the USA, depending on which panel is ordered.
What happens after the results come back?
Your doctor goes through your results with you in person instead of emailing them. Together you agree a personalized plan, and the relevant markers are retested later to check it is working.
